Welcome! I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Iowa, studying American politics and gender.

My research aims to explain gender differences in behavior by linking gendered expectations to behavior. Specifically, I investigate how gender ideology, or the belief in separate spheres for men and women, moderates the relationship between gender and political behavior.

My dissertation project investigates the effect of gendered expectations on 5 key outcomes: political knowledge, affective polarization, party identification, and party strength. To conduct this research, I rely on a combination of cross-sectional survey analysis, panel survey analysis, and laboratory experiments.

My research has been published in Political Research Quarterly, Politics and Governance, and Millbank Quarterly .
